The new European Commission General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) will begin on May 25th, 2018. Businesses have until this date to meet the compliance requirements of the law. The legislation is of vital concern to businesses on both sides of the Atlantic.
Compliance with all the areas covered by GDPR will require organizations to review their approach to governance and how they manage data protection as a corporate issue. One aspect of this might be to review the contracts and other arrangements you have in place when sharing data with other organizations. Some parts of the GDPR will have more of an impact on some organizations than on others. However, there is no question that all American businesses that trade with their European clients need to consider the impact of the GDPR on their processes.
MakoLab USA, Inc. having strong links to its European mother company, MakoLab SA, is well positioned for consulting services related to the regulation.
